The Turner Centre Jazz Club presents Joy Yates and Dave MacRae

This month’s Turner Centre Jazz Club presents a truly internationally experienced line-up of jazz musicians. Joy Yates on Vocals, and Dave MacRae on Piano are joined by Frank Gibson on Drums, and Bruce Lynch on Double Bass.

We believe these musicians to be a part of New Zealand’s Jazz Royalty and a special treat for our Jazz Club.

Following sell-out performances around New Zealand in 2018, the Royal New Zealand Ballet

is delighted to bring Tutus on Tour to the Turner Centre in 2019.

See the dancers perform classical favourites and contemporary works, tailor-made for

The Stage Door Presents Shrek the Musical

Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek…”. Thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside an overexcited Donkey to rescue a spirited princess. Throw in the vertically-challenged Lord Farquaad, a cookie with an attitude, a puppet with a bad habit and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero.

Aroha Music Society presents Duo Col Legno

Yoshiko Tsuruta (Marimba), Heleen du Plessis (Cello) - This will be a thrilling and unusual performance – Heleen drawing a singing tone that weaves through the reverberations produced by Yoshiko on the largest marimba in New Zealand! In addition to well-known works by Tchaikovsky and Fauré the programme will include a new commission by revered NZ composer Gareth Farr. “This concert is presented in association with Chamber Music New Zealand”

Brigham Young University–Hawaii Concert Choir – “Voyages of Light”

“Voyages of Light” features the Brigham Young University–Hawaii Concert Choir, a premier intercultural mixed voice choir, and music that will take you on a journey across the oceans. With a varied assortment of pieces from classic choral literature, religious anthems, musical theater, and diverse cultural music, the choir boasts an exquisite experience music, culture, and light. The concert will also feature local groups including Watea Voices and Be Free Youth Bands, “Bees Are Baby Birds” and Kerikeri High School Seniors. All proceeds for this concert will be donated to Be Free Youth.
