Turner Centre at Kerikeri

Funding

The Turner Centre was built following a major fundraising campaign which raised $3.4m from the local community.

The Far North District Council supported the proposal with a grant of $250,000 from Reserve Funds and the proceeds from the sale of the Memorial Hall.

The Kerikeri Community Trust contributed with a further amount of $400,000. Additional grants from ASB Community Trust, Lotteries Commission, John Logan Campbell Trust and the Kerikeri/Paihia Community Board completed outside funding.

The main purpose of the Trust was to engage local contractors in all facets of the construction. At the conclusion of Stage 1, some $7m had been circulated within local industry and the local community.
