Turner Centre at Kerikeri

Comments from performers, promoters hirers, exhibitors and our patrons

"I was the guy that decided to pass out during the last quarter of the John Denver Tribute Show. A huge thanks to the management and staff of the Turner Centre for taking care of me and my wife while the ambulance staff checked me over. Even though under the weather, I was enjoying the show and the venue. Kerikeri can be proud to have such an awesome venue... nothing in Whangarei compares. We would definitely travel again to see a show at the Turner Centre before attending the same show in Whangarei."

Craig Thompson, Patron

"On behalf of the Bay of Islands Orchid Society, I thank The Centre for their help to our Club during our recent Annual Show.  The venue was absolutely perfect for the event and we were able to display the orchids to their very best advantage - something we have not been able to do in the past...
The Show was a great success and this was due largely to The Centre providing such a marvellous venue."

Lorna Sinton (Secretary) Bay of Islands Orchid Society

"As the convenor of the Top Energy 2009 Far North Science and Technology Fair I am writing to thank you for your support of the fair this year... As the fair is run by a small number of volunteers the ease with which we can run our fair at The Centre makes a big difference to its success."

Glenys Ross (Convenor)  Top Energy 2009 Far North Science and Technology Fair

"On behalf of us all at the Royal New Zealand Ballet I would like to thank you for presenting Tower Tutus on Tour in Kerikeri.
I am very proud that the RNZB is the only arts company in New Zealand to undertake a heartland tour in 2009... I believe absolutely that as a national company we need to get to the nation and you enabled us to do this."

Amanda Skoog (General Manager)  Royal New Zealand Ballet

"I would like to endorse appreciation from the Bay of Islands Festival Trust with a personal, wholehearted thank you for your commitment and contribution to the success of the 2006 [Bay of Islands Arts] Festival. Without your professionalism, attention to detail, willingness to find solutions and great communication and operation skills supporting the fabulous facilities available at The Centre, the Festival would not have been possible."

Sandy Mecredy (Festival Director) Bay of Islands Arts Festival

"On behalf of all those who organised this year's [Yamaha National Piano] competition I would ask you to pass on to your staff and volunteers at The Centre, our sincere thanks and appreciation for the way in which they all carried out their duties during the competition. Erica was absolutely marvellous in her willingness to ensure that the competition was successful, and almost seemed never to leave her post for the duration.  Backstage, she was always ready to help and always on time to keep up a very professional presentation on stage.  Whatever needed doing anywhere else in The Centre she was always there to calmly organise and oversee.  I cannot thank her enough for it all..."

Winsome Fisher (Competition Co-ordinator)

"Now that 'Don Pasquale' is up and running, may I take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for the wonderful collaboration we experienced, during the final production period at The Centre.  Everyone in the Company was unanimous in their praise for the help and welcome they unstintingly received, both backstage and out front.  With the prospect of a long and arduous tour ahead of them, it provided the perfect platform for them to finalise their work. I should also add what a pleasure it was to experience the opera in your magnificent theatre.  The acoustic is splendid, and every word came across.   Indeed it is a long time since I have sat in an auditorium with an audience so patently enjoying themselves.  The evening vindicated our decision to perform 'Pasquale' in English.  And so in short, a rare treat..."

Aidan Lang (General Director) NBR New Zealand Opera

"On behalf of the Rotary Club of Kerikeri I want to thank you and your staff for the use of The Centre for the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness programme in March. The Centre proved to be a very suitable venue and the day was a great success..."

Paul E. Radley  Rotary Club of Kerikeri Inc.

"On behalf of us all at Kerikeri High School who were involved in Nga Manu Korero I write to express our thanks and to acknowledge your excellent leadership.  Your expertise, positivity and professionalism and being so regularly available at short notice was deeply appreciated. We would also like to express our thanks to the volunteers at The Centre who were always friendly, professional and willing to help..."
