Turner Centre at Kerikeri

The Main Auditorium - the heart of the Centre

The show piece at the Turner Centre is the world-class John Dalton Theatre. It is a stunning auditorium seating 400 + people in air conditioned comfort. The acoustics are superb, recognized by the Kerikeri International Piano Competition who have used the theatre for all competitions since the Turner Centre opened in 2005. Main area seats 324 people and additional 68 in the upstairs gallery and there are 2 side boxes seating 8 each.

Audiences enjoy high quality sound throughout the auditorium whether orchestral, pop or intimate virtuoso performances.

The lighting and sound systems provide for easy installation of shows no matter what the performance type. The 18 metre fly tower back stage allows for rapid stage and set changes, something which very few New Zealand regional theatres are able to offer. A flexible orchestra pit arrangement allows for larger stage settings or additional seating, depending on show requirments.

The theatre atmosphere, our experienced Venue Manager and team of volunteers make a night out at the Turner Centre Theatre a pleasure and delight. The Turner Centre provides easy wheelchair ramp access to all event areas and there are two dedicated wheelchair positions in the auditorium. There is a wheelchair available for use if required.
