Heather Morgan

Painting and sketching have been my passion as long as I can remember. After high school, I attended Bristol College of Art, in the UK, and have continued to benefit from, and enjoy many art courses throughout the UK, USA as well as here in New Zealand.

Over the years my work has included working with, oil, watercolour, pastel and acrylic. Since settling here in Kerikeri in 2016, Acrylic on canvas has become my favorite medium for my current ‘Abstract Expressionist’ style of art.

In the past my work sold in the UK and US. My last exhibition was in Atlanta Georgia, US,  where I lived, immediately before moving aboard a sailboat to sail around the world for 13 years. For the last 5 years my work has been sold here in New Zealand.

Travel has been my muse, it has both inspired, and continues to inspire my work today.

I like working with large canvases and bold execution, exploring and exploiting the idea of motion and energy through colour and texture.  I feel a freedom with this style of art, I like using my imagination without restraint, this enables me to achieve my best results..

I paint because it makes me happy
